The 2nds sponsored by A&M Removals of Pocklington were one of only two senior teams to get a game in this weekend in their away game at Burn. The light rain finally eased up at 2pm when the captains agreed a 30 over game to try and beat the rain due again later and after losing the toss Burn chose to bat first.

Clearly used to their own small ground the hosts fancied racking up a big target and boundaries did come easily however so did wickets and at 81-6 Pock might have fancied keeping the hosts to a lower total than they did when they eventually finished on 169-7 thanks to an unbeaten half century from Webster (56), Fin Waldron (3-34) picked up some vital mid innings wickets bowling with real pace, Lewis Chaplin (1-28) bowled brilliantly and was unlucky not to take more and only going for 14 from his first 7 over spell. Josh Tanikal (1-32), John Chaplin (1-24) and Matt Smith (1-34) with the other wickets which included a couple of superb reflex catches from skipper Chaplin.

Joss Room (9) fell early in the reply before Chaplin (28) and Foley (21) started the run chase moving onto 74 before Foley was bowled and then Chaplin was unfortunately given out caught behind after seemingly not getting near the ball. Dan Croft (37) kept the 2s in the run chase but wickets continued to tumble and when Croft was caught himself Burn were back on top. Tanikal (14) and Matt Smith (15) then played some nice strokes to get the team within touching distance before a second and third run out of the innings ultimately cost Pock a chance at chasing the total in the last over as they were bowled out for 158 in the 29th.

Another close game against another 1st team for our seconds who continue to put in some positive performances and will be hoping they can break the losing streak next weekend when they travel away to face Castleford 2s.
